Thalassaemia Patients Welfare Society (TPWS), founded in 2007 and registered with the Social Welfare Department of Sindh, is a non-profit organization led by passionate citizens committed to providing 100% free treatment to patients with Thalassaemia and Hemophilia.
From just 120 patients in 2007 to over 2,596 Thalassaemia and 105 Hemophilia patients in 2024, TPWS offers free blood transfusions, advanced laboratory investigations, iron chelation medicines, patient meals, and rural pick-and-drop transport across Nawabshah, Matiyari, Dadu, Khairpur Mirs, Hyderabad, and surrounding districts.
Thalassaemia is a serious inherited blood disorder that affects the production of hemoglobin—the oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells. This results in severe anemia and various health complications. Patients with Thalassaemia Major often require regular blood transfusions for survival.
Without proper treatment, it can lead to organ damage, bone deformities, and growth problems. At TPWS, we aim to improve quality of life by providing free medical care and promoting awareness to help prevent the transmission of this life-threatening disease.
Inherited condition where the body cannot produce normal hemoglobin, requiring life-long transfusions every 15-25 days.
A simple Pre-Marital Blood Test (Hb Electrophoresis) detects silent carriers and eliminates the transmission of Thalassaemia.
These numbers reflect our unwavering dedication and commitment to improving lives and building a better community.
TPWS Nawabshah is digitized end-to-end by our technology partner, Qonkar Technologies Pvt Ltd (Software Technology Park, QUEST Nawabshah).
